Africa on Foot specialises in Big 5 safaris and walking safaris in the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve; a wildlife rich region in the heart of the Greater Kruger. The Klaserie shares unfenced borders with the Kruger National Park, which means predators and other wildlife roam freely throughout.

On a walking safari guests will be led by experienced and professional trails guides through an area abundant with wildlife. Walks offer a unique perspective and insight into the bushveld, and plenty of knowledge is gained while at ground level with marauding predators and giant herbivores.

Walking Safaris

Africa on Foot is a unique camp offering professional guided walking safaris with qualified trail guides who've had intensive specialized training in approaching dangerous game. Walking safaris are 2-3 hours and begin with a comprehensive demonstration about how to behave when encountering wildlife.

Game Drives with Sundowners

In the evenings, guests are taken on game drive, which brings you a lot closer to big game. The night drives allow guests the opportunity to see the nocturnal animals not encountered during the day. When the sun sets, guides will always stop for sundowners.

Special Occasions

The team at Africa on Foot can tailor-make a special occasion for guests, provided it's pre-arranged. The Honeymoon Sundowner Experience is R500 for couples, but complimentry for honeymooners. There is also the Bush Bar experience, and bush breakfasts upon request.

Other Activities:

  • Sundowners in the bush
  • Bird watching
  • Boma dinners around the fire
  • Romantic couples can sleep in a treehouse on stilts boasting 160-degree wilderness views.
  • Bush breakfasts (upon request)
  • Traditional South African braaivleis (barbecue)
  • Bush Bar experience (upon request)
  • Honeymoon Sundowner Experience

  • During summer, an early wake-up at 05h00 starts the day (while winter is later at 05h45).
  • It gets very hot and guides like to bring guests back to camp before 9am while it is still cool.
  • Walks take between 2 and 3 hours and are followed by a hearty breakfast at the dining table.

Mid-Morning & Lunch

Between 11h00 and 14h30 guests have time to themselves. Relax with a book, take a nap with the sounds of the local birdlife, have a dip in the pool and catch a tan in the sun.

At 14h30 lunch is served, consisting of salads, cheese, cold meat and a light quiche or pie.

Afternoon & Evening

Game drive begins at 15h30 and traverses this exceptional area of the Klaserie.

At sunset, guides take their guests to a spot where they can snack on biltong, nuts and chips, while sipping on something cold.

Return to the lodge by 19h30 and freshen up before dinner at about 08h30.

You guide will escort you back to your room, where you will fall asleep to the sounds of the bushveld.
