Accommodating a group of up to 6 adults on an exclusive-use basis, Fitzpatrick’s at Jock Safari Lodge is stylishly appointed to offer the ultimate private villa experience in the heart of the Kruger National Park.

Room 1 is completely private with its own deck and plunge pool while Room 2 & 3 have been enclosed to create a family unit with 2 luxury suites with bathrooms, sharing a private foyer, deck and plunge pool.

The Family Suite at Fitzpatrick's Lodge

Room 2 & 3 have been enclosed to create a family unit with two luxury suites with en suite bathrooms that share a private foyer, deck and plunge pool.

The unit itself can sleep a maximum of 4 adults and 2 children, should there be more than 4 persons a supplementary rate per person will be applied as per our child policy.

Game Drives

Morning and evening drives are performed in covered 4x4 game viewers conducted by highly experienced rangers.

Interactive game drives, lasting up to 4 hours and which are guided by your game ranger in an open game viewing vehicle, take place in the tranquil moods of sunrise and sunset. You are encouraged to share any particular interests with your ranger who will try and incorporate these into your game drive. On game drives, guests will enjoy a sundowner drink at sunset and coffee/tea at sunrise. Children from 0 up to, and including 5 years, are only permitted at Fitzpatrick’s at Jock.

Guided​ Wilderness Walks

Walking Safari’s are encouraged, after a hearty breakfast, moving through the veld enjoying vistas of unsurpassed beauty and discovering one’s place in the cycle of nature. The diversity of fauna and flora in this unique concession truly comes alive when viewed on foot.

Qualified walking guides provide the opportunity for guests to experience the excitement of approaching species on foot. No persons under the age of 12 years are permitted to join the game walks. Kindly ensure to request this activity at the time of booking accommodation as nature walks are subject to the availability of qualified guides.

Relaxation Retreats

The Pilgrims Rest Retreat offers an escape to enjoy some pampering. Awaken your senses and allow us to rejuvenate body, mind and soul. Inspired by surrounding elements that guide us, our selection of body and beauty treatments cater for men and women.

Golf

Golfing hazards take on a new dimension at Leopard Creek, for much of the water is home to the magnificent creatures after whom the river is named, crocodiles. 

Exclusive access to Leopard Creek Golf Club is available at an additional cost and can be booked with accommodation. Complimentary return transfers are included.

Players please note the appropriate golfing attire that is required: Collar shirts with sleeves and tailored trousers or shorts with white socks. Please ensure you have the correct golfing shoes with golf/rubber spikes.

Birdwatching

For the avid birdwatcher, abundant species of bird are regularly seen on the concession including raptors such as the Martial, Tawny and Fish Eagles as well as Steppe Buzzards.

A wide variety of Bushveld Birds are spotted from the comfort of ones room or whilst lying next to the Rock Pool. Most commonly seen are Hornbills, Starlings, Boubou’s, Shrikes and Woodpeckers to name a few.

The tranquil atmosphere at the lodge allows for unique birding opportunities as man slows down, finding the rhythm of nature and begins to truly observe.

Fitzpatrick’s at Jock is a 3-room stand-alone lodge offering families personal service in an intimate atmosphere. Upon arrival the host and/or ranger will discuss activity options with the family taking the family’s size, children’s ages and the weather into consideration.

Each child will receive a signature backpack containing small gifts, some of which they can use during their stay at Fitzpatrick’s at Jock.

Children staying at Fitzpatrick’s at Jock:

  • Children from 0 up to and including 5 years are only permitted at Fitzpatrick’s at Jock ONLY.
  • Additional beds can accommodate a maximum of one child each OR two children per bunk bed (11 years or younger)
  • Cots can accommodate a maximum of one child per cot.
  • Child minding service is available upon request and can be arranged at an additional cost.

Children from 0 up to and including 5 years old:

  • Are accommodated at 25% of the adult sharing rate when sharing a room with adults – dependent on the availability of cots and/or additional bed.
  • Are permitted on game drives conducted within the Jock Safari Lodge Concession

Children from 6 up to and including 11 years old:

  • Are accommodated at 50% of the adult sharing rate when sharing a room with adults – dependent on the availability of rooms with an additional bed.
  • Are permitted on game drives.

Persons 12 years and older are considered adults and will therefore require their own room at the applicable rates.

The Kruger National park prohibits the use of roads within the park once the gates are closed therefore guests need to be at their destination and transfer companies must be outside the park by the time the gates close.   

  • The gates open at 5.30am during the months of January, February, March, October November and December
  • The gates open at 6am during the months of April, May, June, July, August and September
  • The gates close at 18.30 during the months of January, February, November and December
  • The gates close at 18.00 during the months of March, April, August, September and October
  • The gates close at 17.30 during the months of May, June and July
