Lelapa Luxury Suite
Lelapa literally means ‘family’, and this is exactly how we want you to feel - there is no restriction in terms of age or generation. Many of us have kids of our own, so we know and understand what an unforgettable experience it is for children to be in the bush.
Each of the 12 Suites is spacious, comfortable and ever respectful of the natural environment beyond. Indoor and outdoor showers, private plunge pool and wood-burning fireplace are just some of the added creature comforts to enhance Mother Nature’s subtle signature.

Kopano Suites
Kopano (‘small gathering’ in Setswana) includes only four Suites and reminds of a traditional homestead. Book an individual Suite or the whole lodge out exclusively – it’s this flexibility that makes Kopano the ideal safari destination for a family/friend adventure, unfor gettable honeymoon, or solo discovery. Either way, the lodge’s main living spaces – a dining area, fireplace lounge with library, generously furnished deck, and boma raised above the bush – are yours to enjoy, along with splendid views over the savannah. Note, children of 16 and older are welcome.
Amenities
Dithaba (‘mountain’ in Setswana) has just four Suites, cleverly positioned to maximise the glorious sense of space and privacy you get when on the reserve. Each Suite is a couple or solo traveller’s retreat; or together, an exclusive home base for a multigenerational family or friend group while on safari. But either way, you’ll find the main lodge area they link to great for gatherings of family, new and old friends – replete with rounds of sundowners on the Star Deck and festive bush dinners around the boma fire.

Game Drives
Game drives, in open safari vehicles, head out each day at sunrise and again in the late afternoon to find the reserve’s many fascinating animals, both diurnal and nocturnal. Keep an eye out for the African wild dog – Madikwe’s signature species. This mammal is one of the continent’s most endangered (largely due to habitat loss), but is flourishing here. With no more than eight guests on a game drive, accompanied by their Madikwe field guide, this is a truly intimate safari experience.

Bush Walks
These are our after-breakfast walks on the wild side. Guests are immersed in the bush, rather than just observing it. All five senses are engaged, as they feel scrub crunch beneath their feet, touch the velvety acacia seed pod, hear the crack of a branch indicating they are not alone, and spot big game at eye level – exhilarating! Our expert guides will tailor walks to each of our guest’s area/s of interest, focusing on mammals, birds, insects, plants, geology, etc. •
Other Experiences:
The Big 5, rare and endangered species, an endless landscape, crowned by the African sunrise… This is what you come on safari for and for first-time and seasoned safari goers alike, Madikwe is a wonder. The luxury of our lodge lies in its unrestricted access, as well as sublime comforts, food and hospitality welcoming you back after each wild adventure.
