Luxury Tents

Accommodation at Mavela Game Lodge is in seven luxury safari style tents with en suite bathroom facilities. Each room has a large private deck with beautiful views over the surrounding bushveld.

With comfortable longe chairs and a birdbath in front of your tent, birding enthusiasts can continue enjoy the birdlife from the comfort of their rooms.

Inside, the tents have been tastefully decorated with bespoke furniture complete with airconditioners and in-room tea, coffee and mini bar facilities. The double outdoor shower provides stunning views of the Mavela valley.

Game Drives

Game drives in customized open-top land cruisers are twice daily in search of personal encounters with a range of abundant bird and wildlife.
Your safari experience will be led by a highly trained, FGASA qualified guide with years of experience in finding animals and explaining their behavior.

Walking Safaris

Walking safaris will take you closer to nature for an immersive wilderness experience. Your guide will teach you about the finer details of the bush. You may even encounter one of the Big 5 on foot!

Night Drives

Night drives can also be arranged (at an additional cost) to search for the rarely seen nocturnal animals.

The lodge comprises an open-plan, two-story thatched welcome area with a lounge, bar and dining facilities leading out to the pool and a wooden veranda. The thatched roof depicts a diving raptor in flight and presents a regal architectural feature. Meals are served either in the dining area or outside on the deck under the starry African sky.

Enjoy your space as if it was the comfort of your own home. The lodge is fully-inclusive to all guests, meaning you can help yourself to anything you wish. The stunning upstairs bar with beautiful views of the rolling hills is open for self-service should you wish. Warm days are spent by the pool and cold nights are spent by the fireplace upstairs. Watch the captivating sunsets at the bar while enjoying your favorite wine.
