Mondzo has its own private entrance, securing a serene, private setting with ample space to spend quality time in nature with friends or family.

At Tulela, the same level of luxury is experienced in every detail, no matter whether you are spending time at our Self-catering lodge.

Fully equipped kitchen and self-catering facilities to cook and 'braai' in luxury. Firewood, purified water, ice and basic spices are provided.

Game Drives

Morning and afternoon Game Drives on an open game viewer, with a guide and tracker and 7 500- hectare Klaserie traverse. (Maximum 10 guests) We can head out any time of day or night you like!

Bespoke activities & programme including:

  • Sleep-out under the stars at an additional cost.
  • guided walks,
  • tracking & bush picnics (guest's own drinks & snacks) can be arranged at an additional fee.

Kid-friendly itineraries

Kids activities are tailored to suit different seasons, children's ages and preferences, and can be personalised for our guests' unique safari schedules. There is a range of activities catering for ages two to 16 that will suit those who are adventurous and curious about the bush, or those who like to engage their creative sides.

Tulela is located in the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve, which is part of the Greater Kruger Park on the western boundary of the Kruger National Park, in South Africa's Mpumalanga Province.

International flights to Johannesburg's OR Tambo Airport followed by a 1-hour-long domestic flight to Eastgate Airport outside Hoedspruit. From here, it's a 45-minute drive through the reserve until arriving at the lodge. Driving to Tulela from Johannesburg takes six to seven hours.

 

Family-friendly with kids programs and child-minding service available at an additional fee.

No Loud Music. 

Mondzo: Self-Catering Lodge accommodates 10 guests in 4 en-suite bedrooms (4th bedroom has two sets of bunk beds). Children of all ages are welcome. It is completely separate to the main lodge with its own private entrance and is promoted to the South African market only.

Rates Include:

  • Exclusive use of the entire self-catering lodge which can accommodate 10 guests in four en-suite bedrooms of which one bedroom has two sets of bunk beds.
  • Swimming pool with safety cover, wooden deck and firepit-style boma, indoor and outdoor dining area all overlooking the riverbed and view of the bush.
  • Fully equipped kitchen and self-catering facilities to cook and braai in luxury. Firewood and ice are provided. Daily housekeeping service.
  • The housekeeping staff member can also assist with food preparation if needed.
  • Morning and afternoon Game Drives on an open game viewer, with guide and tracker and 7,500- hectare Greater Kruger traverse. Maximum 10 guests. Use of the gym

Rates Excluded:

  • Child minding available at an additional cost.
  • Star Deck Sleepout Rate R500 per person per night.
  • R265 Klaserie Conservation Levy per person per night
  • R230 Gate Entry Fee per vehicle payable on arrival at the Reserve Gate. Above fees subject to change without notice by Klaserie Private Nature Reserve.
  • Return road transfers available between Eastgate Airport Hoedspruit and Tulela Safari Lodge. Maximum 10 guests with luggage. 2022: R1800 (VAT incl.) Return trip R3600 (VAT incl.) 2023: R2000 (VAT incl.) Return trip R4000 (VAT incl.)
  • The rate includes the Reserve Gate Entry Fee: International and domestic flights. Medical and travel insurance. Items of a personal nature & items not specified under Inclusions. Staff Gratuities at guests' discretion.
