The White Lion Lodge offers four individual stilted, unique glass and thatch suites. Each has a spacious bedroom, dressing room, full bathroom and its own outdoor shower.
Each suite is equipped with:
Panoramic views over the riverbed can be enjoyed from your private wooden veranda. The bathroom offers twin hand basins, a spacious bath, separate rain dance shower, toilet and bidet. Natural body products will pamper your skin. The bedrooms offer twin/extra-long king size beds.
They are decorated with hand painted fabrics and custom made furniture, which blend in with nature and the environment.
Natural stone walkways meander through a Karoo garden and provide easy access between the main lodge and the suites.
Experience the silence of the Klein Karoo while our discreet staff ensure impeccable and personalised service. The Main Lodge is the main meeting point for a pre-dinner drink in the lounge next to a crackling fire.
Relax with a book from the library on one of the sun decks, wind down around the 15-meter infinity swimming pool, or laze on your private wooden deck and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the Klein Karoo.
South African cuisine is served either in the dining room or on the veranda under the glorious African sky. There is a complimentary Wi-Fi connection is located around the lodge.
2 Guided Safari Tours Per Day:
A morning drive and a sun-downer drive in an open vehicle through the southern and northern part of the reserve, enjoying the Klein Karoo Fauna & Flora (Antelopes, Cape Mountain Zebras, Elephants, Buffalos, Giraffes, Birds, Klein Karoo Vegetation).
Birding:
The game reserve is home to more than 200 species of birds. Fish Eagle, Black Eagle and Black Harrier are only some of the raptors which can be seen at White Lion Lodge.
Rock Art:
The San People of Africa lived in this area for thousands of years until about 100 years ago. There are 7 rock art sites throughout the reserve dating back more than 3500 years depicting the spiritual beliefs and lives of these fascinating people.
Stargazing:
With the absence of artificial light, typically generated from town and cities, stargazing in the Karoo is amongst the best in the world.
After a fantastic day of spotting wildlife, flavours, tastes, smells and textures from our kitchen remind you that you are in Africa.
Food and emotions are incredibly interlinked, and nowhere is that more evident than in our cooking at the Lodge.
Our Chef uses the freshest produce to create dishes that combine flavours of her childhood together with the latest cooking techniques of European influence.
No dinner would be complete without the enjoyment of exceptional wines from the Region. Dinner can be enjoyed in our dining room or on the open veranda with the Karoo stars brightening up the night.
Please note that the White Lion Lodge is situated within a malaria free area.
